Genki Shadowcast review. Seems to work pretty well, but it’s also good value for money.

Genki Shadowcast is simple to use but powerful.
겐키 섀도우캐스트는 효과는 간단합니다. 바로 이 친구를 닌텐도 스위치나 플레이스테이션 5와 연결한 후 컴퓨터와도 연결해주면 컴퓨터 화면에서 플레이할 수 있습니다. 물론 이는 단순 HDMI를 통해서 모니터에서 플레이하는 것과는 다릅니다. 이 친구는 일종의 초소형 캡처보드입니다. 주 목적은 닌텐도 스위치나 플레이스테이션 5에서 사용하는 겁니다만 캡처보드가 그렇듯 DLSR등을 연결해서 일종의 웹캠으로 사용하는 것 역시 가능하다고 합니다. 그리고 닌텐도와 플스가 주로 얘기나왔지만 공식 홈페이지를 보면 엑스박스나 옛날 콘솔등에서도 역시 플레이 가능한 듯합니다.
I’ve been playing with Zelda a bit as a test, and it doesn’t really bad affect the gameplay. It is pretty good If I really test it properly, I will have to try various things, such as Zelda, racing games like Mario Kart, games that don’t tolerate even the slightest delay like Tekken, etc… But I already feel so satisfied with it
I also wanted to test it on the PS5, but… The PS5 is quite large, so it’s a bit difficult to put it on my computer desk…
Genki Shadowcast is very good value for money.
성능도 성능이겠습니다만 개인적으로 겐키 섀도우캐스트의 가장 큰 장점은 가성비입니다. 제가 전에 리뷰했던 캡처보드 엘가토 HD60 S+가 20만원이 넘는 데 비해서 이 친구는 공식 홈페이지 기준 49.99달러입니다. 제가 킥스타터에서 39달러로 펀딩했었습니다. 가격이 상당히 저렴한 편입니다. 물론 저 엘가토 캡처보드가 기능 자체는 더 좋습니다만 완전 저가형 캡처보드는 뭔가 불안해서 제가 일부러 비싼 친구를 샀던 것도 있었습니다만, 이 섀도우캐스트는 가격이 저렴한 데 성능이 매우 좋아서 많이 놀랐습니다. 크기가 작은 것은 덤입니다.
It’s a little different from the cost performance, but to use Genki Shadowcast, you need to use a dedicated program to display the screen on your computer. The software has the little capacity, but what’s especially good is that it can run in a web version through Chrome. However, when I did it, it didn’t work out well. Maybe it was my fault, so I just used the software. It’s not an installation method, it’s just an executable file. It’s not an important story, but there are some people who are sensitive to installing even one piece of software, so I mentioned it a bit.
It will be good to use as a capture board.
There seem to be two main purposes of using the capture board. The first is for Internet broadcasting such as YouTube or Twitch, and the second is for playing Nintendo Switch or PS5 on a computer. Because it is not common these days to buy a TV separately unless you have a home or not. To be honest, I’ve only done internet broadcasting a few times as a test, so I haven’t tried broadcasting with Shadowcast yet… I don’t know how good it will be for broadcasting. Of course, the developers say there is no problem.
Since the price is on the low side, it is a good capture board that is not at all difficult to use for personal enjoyment. It is said that there is no problem in using it with the Genki Covert Dock, which was briefly discussed at the beginning of this article. I really like the fact that when you use the two together, you can play a Nintendo Switch without taking up very much space.
