There are quite a few productivity techniques, and one of the well-known methods is called the ‘Pomodoro Technique’. I’m not sure why it’s named after ‘pomodoro’, which means tomato in Italian, but the method involves setting a specific amount of time (usually 20 or 25 minutes) and working intensively during that period. As it’s a relatively well-known technique, there are quite a few Pomodoro apps available. Even if they aren’t strictly Pomodoro apps, there are many productivity apps with a similar format. One app that I’ve noticed frequently on the Galaxy Store and decided to try out is Focus To-Do.

It’s a Pomodoro app, but it has some of the features of a to-do app.

Focus To-Do는 당연히 뽀모도로가 앱의 주요 기능이지만 다른 할일 앱의 기능도 꽤나 충실한 편입니다. 단순히 뽀모도로만 딱 있는 앱들도 많은데요, 이 앱은 기본적으로 일정 등을 설정해두고 그 일을 할 때 뽀모도로를 몇분할지 설정하는 등 꽤나 상세하게 설정할 수 있습니다. 즉 뽀모도로 기능과 할일 앱의 기능을 합쳤다고 볼 수 있겠습니다. 두 종류의 기능이 모두 있는 앱은 TickTick 등 생각보다 있는 편이지만 둘의 기능을 합친 듯한 앱은 분명 많지 않습니다. 이 부분에서 이점이 확실히 있는 앱입니다. 또 뽀모도로 앱들은 그 시간동안 빡집중하는 것을 목표로 합니다만 이 앱은 전체 예정 시간이 나오는 등 사용자의 전체적인 일정같은 것들을 어느 정도 고려했습니다.

The app has more features than I initially expected. I actually appreciate that it has a small community feature. One of the unique features is the “Focus Time Ranking,” which allows users to see how long they’ve maintained focus over the past 30 days or for the entire duration. As of writing this review, the maximum record for the past 30 days is a staggering 430 hours… At this rate, it seems like the app was just left on while eating and sleeping. For the entire period, the record is an unbelievable 29,594 hours; that’s just insane… If someone had really studied for that long, they would have already achieved the 10,000-hour rule almost three times over. Honestly, it’s hard not to be skeptical, but I’ll leave it at that—perhaps it could be true.

또 유명한 forest인가 그 앱에서 영향을 받은 듯한 생산성 정도에 따라서 숲을 가꿀 수 있는 기능도 있습니다. 앞서 3만시간 정도 하신 분들은 숲이 엄청나게 무성할 듯합니다. 숲이 감당 안될 정도이지 않을까 추측해봅니다. 어지간한 농장 게임 뺨칠 정도로 숲이 엄청날듯요. 은근히 여기저기 다른 앱에서 많은 영향을 받았다는 것을 쉽게 알 수 있습니다. 물론 단순히 배꼈다기에는 꽤 잘 만들었기도 하고, 또 todoist처럼 본인들만의 확실한 그런 것이 있는 것이 아니라면 서로서로 영향을 받는 것은 어쩔 수가 없습니다.

It’s not only good as a Pomodoro app but also performs well as a task manager, so there aren’t many drawbacks. If there’s anything to be a bit disappointed about, it might be the community features, which still seem a bit lacking. Currently, they offer just a basic “let’s do it together” function, which isn’t very advanced. Of course, it can improve in the future, so it’s not a major issue.
