Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit Review. A cheap electronic drum that’s good to practice at home
I’ve always wanted to play drums, but I didn’t expect to buy like this. When it comes to electronic drums, famous brands seem to be Roland and Yamaha. Both are Japanese brands aside… these two brands are famous but definitely expensive. I didn’t have enough money, and my studio wasn’t that big, so the number of electronic drums I could play at home was rather limited. I said that I can hear the electronic drum itself through the headset, but the vibrations on the floor were the same…
Anyway, for that reason, I searched the used country and bought a somewhat cheaper product. It’s probably the cheapest friend sold by the brand Alesis. This is the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit.

Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit is a low-cost product, so overall, it’s a bit simple
As a low-cost electronic drum, the overall configuration is rather simple. However, as it is a cost-effective model, it has a mesh, so it gives a feeling of being a little bit more. For your information, we can’t find the cheapest product in Roland, such as mesh, but they only have plastic… Of course, that Roland’s product is also a concept to simply enjoy it at home for education, so I think it came out extremely simple.
It doesn’t seem to take up much space even after assembling everything. I’m in a studio, so when I’m not playing, I have to fold it and carry it around (I didn’t know it could be folded and stored until I saw the official video…), but even if it’s a normal house, I think it’ll be fine if I just put it in the room’s corner. Of course, assembling is also quite easy, so you can easily do it by looking at the manual.
It was a bit confusing at first, but after the second assembly it was pretty easy to assemble. I like this quite a bit. The actual drums take a long time to tighten the screws. But I don’t know if it’s because it’s a low-cost drum or if it’s a simple electronic drum. (The high-end electronic drum looks like an acoustic one) At least I could make it simple to tighten my product.
I think it’ll be good to use for practice
In terms of performance, it’s actually my first time playing the drums, so there aren’t many things I can talk about… However, the drums are basically drums, but as expected, they didn’t feel that way. It’s a mesh, so it wasn’t at the level of hitting plastic, but it’s still not a real drum… It’s a pity. Is it a limitation of the low-end model… Well, I guess I should be grateful that I can play these drums at home.
드럼이 지원하는 소리는 10가지 정도가 있는데 개인적으로는 큰 차이를 못 느끼겠습니다. 그래도 기본적인 미디 기능은 지원해서 컴퓨터 내에 악기가 많다면 일종의 런치패드같은 미디 컨트롤러처럼 사용할 수도 있습니다. 뭐 전자악기라면 이 정도 기능은 있어줘야겠죠. 그리고 전자드럼이 다 그렇지만 이렇게 컴퓨터와 연결이 가능해서 Melodics같은 앱을 사용할 수 있습니다.
There’s one more thing I’m sorry about, but it’s very nice to fold it like the picture above, but the size is a little vague. So, if I fold it and store it in my living room, it’s a waste of space… So whenever I play it, I take it apart and put it back together. When I measured the assembly time, it took 15 minutes… I think I need to go to a bigger house quickly, then I can fold, unfold, and play it properly… Tears…
